The creator of Sonic received two and a half years in prison, but with a probation period
The Tokyo District Court has sentenced game designer Yuji Naka for insider trading. He was sentenced to two and a half years in prison with a probation period of four years.
This means that now Naka will not go to prison: he will get there if he violates the rules of probation. The court explained the delay by the fact that the creator of Sonic admitted his guilt and showed remorse.
The game designer will also have to pay a fine of ¥173 million (approximately $1.2 million).
