Part of the team leaders left the Deck Nine Games studio. They didn't want to fire their subordinates

Deck Nine Games is another game studio that has seen a wave of cuts. According to former narrative designer Elizabeth Ballou, among others, the heads of some teams left the studio. They decided to quit voluntarily so that their subordinates would not lose their jobs.

“The team leaders in my department were given swords. They chose to fall for them and quit, instead of choosing [employees for reduction] among the rest,” Ballou wrote on Twitter.

Representatives of Deck Nine Games in a comment to the Game Developer portal confirmed that the studio had made cuts. In total, 30 people were dismissed.
