Media: The EU can approve a deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard without requiring to sell part of the business

Sources tell Reuters that the European Commission is unlikely to offer Microsoft to buy only part of Activision Blizzard — the regulator can allegedly support the deal without this requirement. In early February, such a condition for the transaction was put forward by the British regulator.

According to the publication, the position of the European Commission was influenced by the licensing agreements that Microsoft concluded with Nintendo and NVIDIA. The corporation has promised to release its games and Activision Blizzard projects, including Call of Duty, on the platforms of these companies for 10 years.

The European Commission must render a verdict on the deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard by April 25.
