Russian IT companies may be required to coordinate foreign investments with the government

The Center for Strategic Research (CSR) has prepared a report in which he told how it is possible to limit the Russian IT sector from foreign influence. Among other things, he suggested that IT companies coordinate with the authorities all “significant corporate actions” of foreigners.

CSR attributed to such actions the acquisition of shares or shares of the company, the appointment of foreigners to the board of directors, amendments to the company’s charter, the transfer of infrastructure or head office abroad, and much more.

In addition, the CSR proposed appointing representatives of the state to the board of directors of IT companies. The agency also believes that the Russian authorities should have the right to veto decisions made by foreign participants of companies.
