For the first time in a year, Tencent has received a license to publish a major game in China. The company's shares immediately rose
On November 17, the National Press and Publications Administration of China (NPPA) issued licenses for publishing 70 online games in the country. Among them was Metal Slug: Awakening — Tencent is responsible for its release.
According to Bloomberg, as a result, Tencent shares rose by 3.7% at auction in Hong Kong.
Note that in 2022, Tencent has already received a license, but for a less well-known project. In September, Chinese authorities approved the educational game Health Protection War from its subsidiary Nanjing Wangdian Technology.
