The studio that came up with the merge mechanics was bought by Netflix

American developer Spry Fox has joined Netflix. Now the serial colossus has six internal game studios.

The amount of the transaction, as well as its terms, are not disclosed.

In a post on its official website, the Spry Fox team reports that:

▫️she will continue to make the games that she wants to make, but with the support (including resource) of the new owner;

▫️the deal will make the games better and reach a wider audience;

▫️the team will stop worrying about earnings and concentrate on development;

▫️it will be possible to collaborate with other Netflix teams.

Where the company’s new projects will be released (now it is developing Cozy Grove 2 and an unannounced MMO, where there will be no cruelty and violence), the studio does not specify. As for existing projects, they will remain available on the platforms where they were released.

Spry Fox is known primarily as the author of merge mechanics, which appeared in Triple Town, released in 2010. Today, the studio is also known as the developer of the Cozy Grove sim and the Alphabear word series.
