Hytale
It is unclear how much Riot Games cost a staff of 40 Hypixel employees.
Only some details of the transaction are known.
Firstly, the Canadian Hypixel will not only maintain its structure, but also open a new, Irish branch. He will be engaged in testing and operating Hytale.
Secondly, the developer plans to expand its staff to 60 employees.
It is also reported that Riot Games will help the studio in the development of Hytale. But the authors of the game consulted with the publisher before.
About Hypixel and Hytale
Hypixel Studios was founded in 2018. According to Crunchbase, Riot Games acted as one of its seed investors, but the amount invested in the studio is not called.
Nevertheless, Hypixel has been engaged in its RPG sandbox since 2015. Before officially becoming a studio, the developers created a Hypixel server in Minecraft, and then decided to make their game based on it. The server was the source of their funding before the seeding round with Riot Games.
Hytale is a desktop RPG sandbox in a cubic style, like Minecraft. The beta of the game is scheduled for 2021. 2.5 million people have already registered in it.
