Ubisoft acquired 75% of Idle Miner Tycoon Developer

The French publisher Ubisoft bought 75% of Kolibri Games. The latter develops popular idle clickers.

Ubisoft itself announced the purchase of shares in the mobile studio. There are few details. The transaction took place on January 31. It is not known how much it cost the publisher. As noted in his press release, in the next four years Ubisoft may buy Kolibri Games entirely.

“The acquisition of Kolibri Games allowed us to strengthen our portfolio of idle games,” the Ubisoft Mobile division said. The publisher highly appreciates the success of Kolibri Games as the authors of Idle Miner Tycoon and Idle Factory Tycoon. Recall that a studio of 100 people earns $1.6 million on them every month. Idle Miner Tycoon alone, Kolibri’s flagship project, has been downloaded by 104 million players.

Now the studio has the opportunity to develop at an accelerated pace, and Ubisoft has the resources to create a diverse line of mobile games. Recall, the French company has already invested in a number of mobile developers (Ketchapp, 1492 Studios), and also acquired 70% of the publisher Green Panda Games. The latter, like Kolibri, works in the idle segment. And Ubisoft will also be able to buy it out in the coming years.
