Kongregate to Create $10 Million Fund for Indie Developers
Kongregate publishing house announced the foundation of a $10 million fund to promote games from independent developers on PC and consoles.
The Foundation plans to sponsor the publishing of both paid and shareware games. With its help, the company wants to help independent developers enter the growing video game industry, whose turnover this year is approaching a record $104 billion.
The fund is positioned as a publishing one, but money from it can also be used to invest in gaming companies. Kongregare has announced that it is open to different types of cooperation.
Along with funding, Kongregate offers developers advertising and technical support.
Kongregate has experience in such initiatives — in 2013, the company opened a mobile publishing division with a budget of $ 10 million. It has published over 30 games that have generated 100 million downloads.
