Animoca Brands bought the authors of the midcore game Crazy Kings for $ 3.5 million
Finnish studio TicBits, consisting of 9 employees, was acquired by Hong Kong publisher Animoca Brands for $ 3.5 million.
The main project of TicBits to date is a midcore title in the genre of “tower defense” Crazy Kings, which was published by Wooga. The company also successfully earns money on projects like mobile Solitare and Minesweeper.
TicBits revenue from 2014 to 2015 increased by 53%, amounting to almost $ 1.6 million, profit increased by 134%, reaching almost $ 800 thousand.
Animoca Brands acquired 100% of the studio for $3.5 million. Another $1.5 million will be paid if additional terms of the transaction are fulfilled (apparently, certain metrics are reached). The market value of Animoca Brands itself at the moment is about $ 48 million.
