Berlin gaming startup will create a platformer with the money of a venture fund
The mobile game studio Klang Games from Berlin has attracted investments from the London Venture Partners fund. The studio does not disclose the amount. The money will be used for further development of the ReRunners platformer.
Independent studio Klang Games was created in 2013, and ReRunners, which is currently in beta testing, will be their first project. This is a pixel platformer with asynchronous multiplayer for smartphones and tablets.
The project does not promise anything unusual. The reason why London Venture Partners invests in a startup is that its founders have more than 15 years of experience in the gaming industry. Ivar Emilsson and Oddur Magnusson previously worked at the Icelandic game studio CCP Games on the projects Eve Online and Dust 514.
The London Venture Partners venture Fund is known for investing money in gaming projects. Its partners are Supercell, Playfish and NaturalMotion. At the end of 2014, the fund invested in the Finnish startup PlayRaven.
It should be noted that it is the presence of experience in the industry and portfolio that is called a key characteristic in the issue of venture investments.
