Stamping indie hits made Simogo rich

Swedish company Simogo expects double profit in 2013. The blame for everything is the success of Year Walk and Device 6.

Simon Flesser from Simogo says that the new Device 6 game ($3.99) sold more than 50,000 copies in the first week. This is a good result both for a paid application and for a company that employs only 2 people.

Not much, but very decent for a game for 4 bucks.

If the positive dynamics continues, Simogo may receive about $700 thousand by the end of 2013 (already taking into account 30% of the profits that the company will pay to Apple). Flesser claims that this is twice as much as in the entire previous year.

Flesser admits that it is not necessary to sell millions of copies in order for a business to function successfully. He is quite satisfied with the current results.

Beat Sneak BanditSimogo gained fame thanks to the nomination of Beat Sneak Bandit for a BAFTA statuette in 2012.

The Year Walk game, released in February 2013, was also well received by the press. Device 6 – a modern take on a text adventure – received 92% on Metacritic.
