A new collaboration between the organizers of Gamescom, which include Koelnmesse and Game - The German Games Industry Association, and IGN has been unveiled for the "gamescom awesome indies show." This builds on a longstanding arrangement where IGN has been the production partner for Gamescom's consumer broadcast. IGN Entertainment, the parent company of GamesIndustry.biz, owns IGN.

The event's 60-75 minute live-streamed program airs on Thursday night, featuring a variety of exclusive trailer debuts, gameplay reveals, and interviews with developers. This year, the show will introduce game previews, which are favored by IGN’s audience worldwide. These previews are tailored for the livestream format and will present impartial, firsthand insights into selected games from the showcase.

Additionally, IGN will continue managing the unique glass cube "gamescom studio" on the exhibition floor. It will broadcast in English and German and produce specialized content for Japan and China through its international teams. IGN has fulfilled the role of the official production partner for gamescom studio since 2019.

"We are delighted to expand our collaboration with game and Koelnmesse to deliver more remarkable gamescom content globally," stated Yael Prough, President of IGN Entertainment. "In doing so, we aim to spotlight the creativity, innovation, and talent within the vibrant indie community."

Tim Endres, Director of gamescom at Koelnmesse, said, "IGN has been a reliable partner for several years. We’re enthusiastic about collaborating in this new capacity to offer a fresh, innovative perspective to the gamescom awesome indies show and bring to life the groundbreaking indie games featured."

Stefan Heikhaus, Head of gamescom & Events at game, remarked: “This alliance sends a strong message to the indie sector. Our goal is to enhance the gamescom awesome indies show to raise awareness for the exceptional indie games showcased. We aspire for gamescom to be a platform for discovering the most captivating indie games.”

Editorial and sponsorship participation in the show is available to independent developers or publishers presenting in various areas of the event. Interested parties can apply here.
