The Tokyo Indie Game Summit in 2025 has reached new heights, drawing in a record 23,000 participants
The third edition of the Tokyo Indie Game Summit successfully attracted more than double the attendees compared to the previous year, for both its online and physical formats. The summit, held in Kichijoji, Tokyo, on March 8 and 9, offered a lineup of activities, including engaging discussions with notable figures like Shuhei Yoshida and Shunji Mizutani, competitive gaming, and previews of upcoming releases. More than 23,000 participants attended this year, compared to the 9,000 who came last year.
Kazunori Sakamoto, who founded Phoenixx—the group behind the summit—commented, “It was incredibly inspiring to witness the vibrant collaboration between creators and fans in Kichijoji.” He added, "We are truly thankful for the growth at TIGS and are strategizing to ensure that 2026 will be our most significant event.
