The creators of the indie strategy game Ephemeris received 200,000 euros from investors after a failed crowdfunding campaign
The Finnish indie studio Yrdvaab announced that they have saved their game Ephemeris from closure. The project was almost abandoned following an unsuccessful crowdfunding campaign on IndieGoGo, but the developers managed to secure 200,000 euros from investors in Germany.
Ephemeris
Yrdvaab launched the crowdfunding campaign for Ephemeris in October 2024, aiming to receive at least 30,000 euros from backers, ideally reaching 100,000 euros. However, the game hardly drew any interest, and Yrdvaab raised only 8,400 euros from 157 backers.
The authors of Ephemeris believe that the crowdfunding campaign failed partly due to insufficient media coverage. The game was actively covered in only one country, which they did not specify. However, it seems that Ephemeris gained attention in Germany.
The names of the German investors and the terms under which the 200,000 euros were provided are not disclosed in Yrdvaab's press release.
Ephemeris is a 4X strategy game set in space, and it has been in development for four years. It is expected to enter early access on Steam next year.
