Former Capcom sound designers Hideaki and Saori Utsumi start Birdkin Studio to work on their indie game
Hideaki and Saori Utsumi, two former Capcom developers, have found a new game studio. The two-person team is now working on their debut project.

The Utsumi couple shared the news on social media, saying that their new game development studio, called BirdkinStudio, consists of just two people. It is unclear whether they plan to hire more people or whether the company will remain a small family venture.
According to its official website, Birdkin Studio is now working on a game for Nintendo Switch and Steam. The devs will share more details about this project in the future.

Hideaki Utsumi is a Japanese sound designer and composer, who worked at Capcom for 14 years before leaving the company in 2009. His portfolio includes Resident Evil 1, 2, and 5, as well as Mega Man X: Command Mission, Devil May Cry, and the El Dorado Gate series.
During his days at Capcom, Utsumi married fellow composer Saori Maeda. She is best known for working with Masami Ueda on the soundtrack of Resident Evil 3, while also contributing to games like Mega Man Xtreme and Bounty Hunter Sara.
At Birdkin Studio, Hideaki and Saori Utsumi will both serve as game designers, sound designers, and composers. Hideaki will also take on the roles of programmer and CG artist.
