Layoffs Occurred at the Studio of the Former Creative Director of Dragon Age
Yellow Brick Games is another gaming studio that has decided to downsize its staff. The layoffs were highlighted by journalist Chris Kerr.

As noted by Kerr, several employees of Yellow Brick Games posted on LinkedIn about the layoffs at the studio in the past 24 hours. Among them are programmers, artists, and testers.
The exact scale of the layoffs is unknown. It is also unclear what exactly prompted Yellow Brick Games to part ways with some of its staff.
Yellow Brick Games was founded in 2020. Among its founders are Mike Laidlaw, the former creative director of the Dragon Age franchise, and several former Ubisoft employees. According to the studio's website, before the layoffs, about 60 people worked there.
In January 2025, Yellow Brick Games released its first and so far only game, an action-adventure titled Eternal Strands, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. The studio has not publicly disclosed the game's figures, but according to data from the Gamalytic service, the Steam version of Eternal Strands has sold only 51.7 thousand copies to date and earned just over a million dollars. It is possible that the game performed better on other platforms, but this is not certain.
