GTA developers were finally able to unite in a union
Employees of Rockstar Games announced the launch of the Rockstar Game Workers Union. It includes specialists from offices in London, Edinburgh, Dundee, Lincoln, and Leeds.

Let us recall, the developers of GTA had planned to establish a labor union last year, but until now, they were unsuccessful. In November 2025, activists claimed that their efforts were being obstructed by Rockstar Games management—allegedly, it was to suppress the formation of the union that the company fired 31 employees in the UK six months ago. However, Rockstar Games cited a different reason for the dismissals. According to them, the former employees leaked confidential information online.
The Rockstar Game Workers Union hopes to reinstate the dismissed employees. They anticipate that a lawsuit, filed several months ago by the larger Independent Workers’ Union of Great Britain (IWGB), against Rockstar Games will aid in this effort.
Additionally, the Rockstar Game Workers Union aims to generally improve working conditions at the company. For example, they strive for flexible scheduling, transparency in pay, and the elimination of overtime.
The management of Rockstar Games has not publicly commented on the formation of the union.
