Iron Galaxy Studios, the team behind Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4, has reduced its workforce due to prevailing economic conditions.

In February, the studio, headquartered in Chicago, eliminated 66 jobs as a measure of last resort. GamesIndustry.biz has reached out for more information on the number of individuals impacted by the recent cuts.

"Maintaining our previous team size is not viable given our current circumstances, even after last year's reductions," the company explained on LinkedIn.

The company noted that shifts in video game development since 2020 have led to ongoing conversations about when the industry might stabilize. Recognizing the situation as permanent, Iron Galaxy is embracing this reality.

The studio remarked on changes in how games are consumed and the evolving investment criteria from publishers, affecting their collaborations industry-wide. The studio stated they are making challenging choices to redefine their identity.

The company expressed regret over employees losing their positions as they restructure to align with the industry's landscape, emphasizing the need to continuously evolve.

Last August, Adam Boyes resigned from his role as co-CEO of Iron Galaxy after eight years. He had been appointed co-CEO alongside Chelsea Blasko in November 2020, with Blasko taking on the CEO position upon his exit.
