Konami will increase salaries for young employees in Japan by nearly a third

Another Japanese gaming company will start paying its employees more. Konami has now announced a salary increase.

Silent Hill 2 Remake

The most noticeable increase at Konami will be for the starting salaries of recent graduates from Japanese universities. According to the company's statement, they will rise by 29%—from 240,000 yen ($1,505) to 310,000 yen ($1,943) per month.

For other employees, the base salary will increase more modestly—by 5,000 yen ($31.35) per month. The exact final amount received depends on the position and experience of the specialists.

Konami reminded that it has been raising the base salary for five consecutive years. The company aims to become more competitive in the labor market and attract more talented developers.

Recall that two weeks ago, Atlus announced a salary increase as well, while also reducing the volume of fixed overtime.
