Crystal Dynamics has announced a reduction in its workforce, eliminating 20 positions.
Crystal Dynamics, the studio known for the Tomb Raider series, has announced additional staff reductions. This latest move impacts 20 workers in their development and central operations teams.
The company shared via LinkedIn that a review of their team structures was undertaken to ensure alignment with long-term objectives, which resulted in these job cuts.
The statement explained that they try to reassign employees to new roles when possible, but such changes were deemed necessary.
The studio is committed to continuing work on its planned Tomb Raider projects, including the remake of "Legacy of Atlantis" from 1996 and a fresh installment, "Tomb Raider: Catalyst," both revealed during The Game Awards in December.
The company expressed gratitude for the dedicated contributions of those affected, noting that they are providing assistance with severance and job placement.
Their message conveyed that such choices are tough, especially following last year's restructuring efforts.
Earlier in 2025, the studio went through a similar restructuring process, which included layoffs. In March, 17 team members were released, with an unreported number more in August and 30 additional staff in November.
