Embark and co-founder Rob Runesson have "mutually parted ways" amid allegations of sexual misconduct

Embark Studios, the creators of Arc Raiders and The Finals, announced the departure of Rob Runesson, their co-founder and Chief Creative Officer, following accusations of inappropriate conduct.
According to a report by IGN, the Swedish game developer recently received information concerning allegations related to one of its staff members.
"We take such issues very seriously," the studio stated, explaining that they initiated an external review by a law firm to investigate the claims.
While the probe did not confirm the allegations, Embark decided that the circumstances necessitated Runesson’s exit.
IGN detailed that the allegations were linked to a female streamer associated with The Finals, who reportedly experienced escalating discomfort due to Runesson's alleged propositions for sexual dialogues and favors.
An anonymous informant mentioned that the streamer was anxious about a potential conflict of interest and felt unable to resist due to reliance on Runesson for stream promotion.
The streamer is said to have communicated the issue to an Embark community manager, though was unaware an investigation had been initiated.
GamesIndustry.biz is seeking additional comments from Embark Studios.
Embark Studios was established in 2018 by Patrick Söderlund along with other veterans from the Battlefield developer DICE, including Runesson.
