Embark has announced a "mutual separation" with co-founder Rob Runesson amid allegations of sexual misconduct

Rob Runesson, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer at Embark Studios, is no longer part of the company following a mutual decision after he faced allegations of sexual misconduct. This decision comes despite an investigation that did not confirm the allegations, with the company deeming the working relationship untenable.
The Swedish gaming company, known for developing Arc Raiders and The Finals, addressed the allegations via a statement provided to IGN. They revealed that after being informed of the claims, an external law firm was engaged to investigate the matter thoroughly.
The allegations reportedly involve a female streamer associated with The Finals, who expressed unease over Runesson's alleged requests for sexual conversations and favors. An anonymous source indicated that the streamer felt a conflict of interest, fearing repercussions due to her financial reliance on his promotion of her streams.
Although the streamer reportedly communicated her concerns to an Embark community manager, she was unaware that an investigation was being conducted.
Founded in 2018 by Patrick Söderlund alongside other former DICE personnel including Runesson, Embark Studios continues to operate, and GamesIndustry.biz is seeking further details from the company.
