Ubisoft offered 200 employees in Paris the opportunity to resign

Ubisoft continues to reduce its workforce. This time, it plans to let go of about 18% of the staff at its Paris headquarters.

In an internal letter, Ubisoft stated that it does not intend to conduct traditional layoffs. Instead, it wants employees to leave the company voluntarily under a "collective agreement on voluntary termination of employment contracts," known in France as Rupture Conventionnelle Collective. This is a widely used legal mechanism in France applied for mutually agreed terminations.

Ubisoft emphasized that, for now, this is only a proposal. The final decision on layoffs will need to be coordinated with the union and French authorities.

Last week, Ubisoft announced the start of the third phase of its cost-cutting program and a new restructuring phase, during which it will be divided into five "creative houses." Following this, the company’s shares plummeted by a third.
