KRAFTON has offered some employees the option to resign amid the company's focus on AI
The South Korean company KRAFTON has initiated a voluntary resignation program, as reported by Business Korea. It has also temporarily halted the hiring of staff for teams that are not involved in developing original IP and artificial intelligence technologies.

The number of employees KRAFTON aims to part ways with is unknown.
KRAFTON has promised generous severance packages to specialists who agree to leave the company. The compensation amount depends on tenure: the longer an individual has worked at KRAFTON, the larger the sum. For example, employees with less than a year of service will receive the equivalent of six months' salary, whereas veterans with 11 years or more of experience will be paid three years' worth of salary upfront.
In a comment to Business Korea, a KRAFTON representative stated that the program is not intended to reduce the workforce. The reason is that the company is currently undergoing a transformation towards AI, and employees were simply given the choice — to stay at KRAFTON and support this direction or to leave and pursue other opportunities.
Recall that KRAFTON announced its extensive AI plans at the end of October. At that time, it mentioned its intention to integrate neural networks into key processes and invest 100 billion won (69 million dollars) in the development of a GPU cluster.
