Rockstar Games is being sued over dismissals
The British union, Independent Workers Union of Great Britain (IWGB), has filed a lawsuit against Rockstar Games. The reason for this is the dismissal of several dozen developers in early November—believing that the studio acted unlawfully.

In the press release accompanying the lawsuit, the union reiterated its previous statement: the dismissed workers wanted to establish their own union within Rockstar Games, but the studio management was against it. Allegedly, top managers repeatedly refused to negotiate and ultimately decided to get rid of the activists.
Rockstar Games had previously explained the dismissals by leaks. According to them, the developers discussed internal information on a public forum, which is against the studio's rules. IWGB believes that this forum refers to a closed union chat on Discord, which all the dismissed workers were part of.
"Employers like Rockstar Games should understand that closed spaces, such as union Discord servers, are protected. Company contractual provisions do not override UK law," added IWGB President Alex Marshall.
Rockstar Games has not yet commented on the lawsuit.
