Rovio has announced the dismissal of 36 employees due to the disappointing performance of Angry Birds Dream Blast

Rovio has decided to dismiss 36 staff members following lower than expected performance from the game Angry Birds Dream Blast.
According to Mobilegamer.biz, the company confirmed that this situation has prompted a reorganization of both their studios and management.
A representative stated, "This fall, we've been reshaping our organization due to one of our games not meeting expectations and to adapt more efficiently to the market. This shift is aimed at more closely focusing on game development and expediting new game ideas."
"Our strategy involves forming new business units, restructuring some game studios, and redistributing games being developed," added the spokesperson.
Part of these adjustments involves changes at its Finnish studio, which will concentrate on fewer projects as some games transition to become independent business units. Meanwhile, the Barcelona studio is set to handle additional new and ongoing projects.
The spokesperson further detailed, "We're also revising our management structure to fit our status as a non-listed entity and to strengthen our collaboration with SEGA."
"Consequently, our CEO, Alexandre Pelletier-Normand, is allocating more time across different Rovio sites and at Sega of Europe's office," the spokesperson explained.
The reorganization has resulted in changes in certain positions, the establishment of new roles, and ultimately the dismissal of 36 employees.
In April 2023, Sega disclosed its plans to purchase Rovio for €706 million. This acquisition was finalized in August of the same year.
