This week's GamesIndustry.biz HR Summit will feature Kevin McCoy from Next Jump and Simon Sparks of GameDataCore leading a discussion. Their session, 'Level Up or Get Left Behind: How to Win When You're Short on People, Resources, Time, and Money,' aims to explore practical techniques like adjusting feedback systems and establishing a coaching culture.
Since its inception in 1997, McCoy has played a key role at Next Jump, a company specializing in e-commerce and employee benefits technologies. He launched the company's Cambridge, MA office and transitioned to the UK branch in 2010 as managing director. McCoy spearheaded Next Jump's coaching initiatives with the UK Royal Navy, a project that will be highlighted during the summit’s discussion. He also oversees the global finance and operations division.
Simon Sparks, who is both a co-founder and COO at GameDataCore, offers expertise in video game industry intelligence and serves as a culture consultant. He collaborates with coaches at Next Jump and has also been involved with the UK Navy in a coaching capacity. Sparks is enthusiastic about using a startup as a testing ground for these concepts, emphasizing the impact of structured feedback and team synchronization.
The summit will take place on Thursday, October 2, at The Royal Institution in London. McCoy and Sparks are among several speakers, including Fresh Seed's Sarah Brewster, Skillfull's Gina Jackson, Amiqus' Liz Prince, and Sega Europe's chief people officer Nicky Ormrod, along with Simon Court and Dan Bobby from Value Partnership.
