Former employees of Lion Studios have opened their own studio for mobile puzzles

The studio is called Cheer Games.

The launch of the new game company was highlighted by the portal Game Developer. As it reports, Cheer Games started operations in August and has not made any public announcements yet.

According to the description of Cheer Games’ page on LinkedIn, the studio is located in Barcelona. Its goal is to develop casual mobile puzzles with "fresh gameplay."

Emre Gercel, former Vice President at Lion Studios, is listed as the CEO and one of the founders of Cheer Games. Joining him in the founding team are SuperMesh Games founder Ertan Ünver and two other veterans from Lion Studios — Berkay Ozturk, the Design Director, and Kutay Koralturk, the Head of Product.

Interestingly, the decision by Gercel, Ozturk, and Koralturk to launch their own studio coincided with the change in ownership of Lion Studios. Until recently, the publisher was part of AppLovin, but it now belongs to Tripledot Studios. Whether these events are related is not definitively known.
