Layoffs occurred at the company co-founded by a Blizzard founder
At the end of August, it became known that Dreamhaven, a company co-founded by Blizzard's Mike Morhaime, is moving into a cost-saving mode. As it turns out, one of the consequences of this decision was mass layoffs.

Morhaime wrote on LinkedIn that the layoffs mainly affected Dreamhaven's publishing department. He did not specify how many people lost their jobs.
Despite the problems that have arisen in the company, Morhaime remains optimistic about its future. He hopes that the situation will improve. Dreamhaven is not planning to abandon its published projects and will continue to support Sunderfolk, Wildgate, and other titles.
Earlier, Bloomberg, citing Morhaime's letter to Dreamhaven employees, reported that both Sunderfolk and Wildgate sold worse than the publisher had expected. Sunderfolk was purchased only 62,000 times in four months, while Wildgate sold 130,000 times in a month. By August, the company’s monthly expenses had begun to exceed its income, prompting an urgent decision to cut costs.
