Dreamhaven experiences layoffs, though the exact number of affected employees has not been disclosed

Mike Morhaime, the co-founder and CEO of Dreamhaven, has disclosed that the company is reducing its workforce. This decision, aimed at minimizing the impact on their publishing division, was confirmed in a LinkedIn post by Morhaime.
Details regarding the exact number of staff affected remain undisclosed. Morhaime emphasized the difficulty of these decisions, acknowledging the important contributions of those being let go. "Our team has been vital in organizing the Dreamhaven Showcase and facilitating the launch of three games this year," Morhaime noted, expressing gratitude for the creativity and hard work of those departing.
He addressed the broader challenges within the industry, stating that Dreamhaven is offering separation packages and benefits coverage. In collaboration with Amir Satvat's Games Community, they aim to assist former employees with transition resources and mentorship opportunities.
Despite the layoffs, Morhaime maintains a positive outlook on Dreamhaven's future prospects. The company assured PC Gamer that ongoing projects, including Wildgate and Sunderfolk, as well as other initiatives, will continue unaffected.
A Bloomberg report linked the layoffs to an email from Morhaime, indicating that the company's expenses surpass its revenue. Dreamhaven was established by Morhaime in 2020, after he co-founded Blizzard Entertainment, where he served as president until his departure in 2018.
