Crystal Dynamics recently reduced its workforce, attributing the layoffs to changes in business conditions. The studio described the decision as "necessary" for maintaining the company's long-term stability amid a changing market landscape.

In their official statement, they expressed, "To those impacted — we recognize and thank you for your hard work, talent, and passion. We are committed to offering the full extent of support and resources at our disposal during this transition," which can be referenced here.

The studio acknowledged its appreciation for the ongoing support from its teams, players, and partners during this period. They assured stakeholders that the future development of the Tomb Raider series would not be affected by these layoffs.

The exact number of employees affected and the details of the support provided have not been disclosed. Earlier in the year, Crystal Dynamics also laid off 17 employees in March, with additional reductions occurring in September 2023.
