The initial report about the layoffs at Red Storm Entertainment came from IGN. Ubisoft later confirmed the information and stated that a total of 19 employees were let go from the studio.
According to Ubisoft, the dismissals at Red Storm Entertainment are part of a broader cost-cutting program within the company. This decision “reflects the needs of the studio's projects” and was made considering operational priorities. In other words, Ubisoft concluded that Red Storm Entertainment currently does not require as many people for its games.
The exact number of remaining employees at the studio is unknown. According to its LinkedIn profile, approximately 160 specialists are still employed at Red Storm Entertainment.
In the spring, Ubisoft reported that since September 2022, the entire company’s workforce shrunk by 3,000 people.
