Techland has announced the cancellation of two in-progress games, assuring that there will be no layoffs among its staff

Techland has announced the cancellation of two undisclosed projects during their development stage, assuring that this decision will not lead to any job cuts.
According to GameWatcher, the financial period covered by Puls Biznesu reported a loss of PLN 135 million ($37.4 million) for the fiscal year 2024, which was a factor influencing the cancellation.
The company clarified to Eurogamer that "no staffing reductions have occurred due to the recent changes".
"Our team has been reassigned to various ongoing projects," the statement read. "Currently, our main goal is to launch Dying Light: The Beast for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S."
"Details on new projects will be shared after the release of Dying Light: The Beast," the company added.
One of the shelved titles is speculated to be a fantasy RPG set in an open world, announced back in May 2022. This project involved team members who previously worked at CD Projekt Red, Arkane, and Guerrilla Games.
In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Tymon Smektała, the director for the Dying Light franchise, explained that Dying Light: The Beast started as a DLC for Dying Light 2. However, it evolved into a standalone game following the unexpected leak of a significant portion of its narrative.
