Approximately 300 employees working for Build A Rocket Boy in the UK have been advised they may face redundancy, as emails labeled "at-risk of redundancy" were sent out. This comes in the wake of last week's layoff announcement.

Sources informed IGN that the same communication was also directed at employees from PlayFusion, a company acquired by Build A Rocket Boy last year under undisclosed terms.

Insiders revealed that the company's CEO Leslie Benzies spoke to employees through a short video meeting earlier this week, hinting at a "relaunch" for MindsEye and blaming "internal and external saboteurs" for the difficulties faced by the studio and game.

Build A Rocket Boy is yet to comment further as GamesIndustry.biz seeks more details.

During a question and answer session on the official MindsEye Discord, co-CEO Mark Gerhard addressed allegations about deliberate attempts to undermine the company and its game. He asserted, according to IGN, that there is an organized campaign to harm the studio's reputation, involving spam bots and repetitive comments.

Last week, acknowledging the reports of layoffs, Build A Rocket Boy stated to GamesIndustry.biz that they've had to inform their team about upcoming changes. The company is trying to find new positions for affected staff but is proceeding with consultations that may lead to job losses.

The statement emphasized their commitment to conducting this process with transparency and fairness while ensuring all employees are treated respectfully. Further information will be communicated to the team in the near future.
