The exact number of employees laid off is unknown. It is also unclear whether the current layoffs are part of the restructuring announced in October 2024, or if they were a separate round.

Recall that last fall, DON'T NOD announced that as part of the restructuring, it would be reducing up to 69 employees. However, at that time the layoffs were only mentioned in France, whereas Montreal is located in Canada. In April 2025, the company informed investors that it managed to reduce the scale of the layoffs, and ultimately 59 individuals would leave the company.

The reason for DON'T NOD's restructuring is the company's worsening financial position amidst poor sales of new games. By the end of 2024, its operating revenue fell by 25.3% to €23.9 million, and the net loss reached €64.3 million.
