Developer The Chinese Room, known for its work on "Still Wakes The Deep," appears to have executed a limited number of layoffs

The studio behind "Still Wakes The Deep," The Chinese Room, seems to have undergone a limited number of layoffs shortly after the release of the Siren's Rest DLC for the BAFTA-winning game this week.
Recently, a lighting artist and a level designer from the team shared their job-seeking status on LinkedIn. Although these posts are not directly linked here for privacy, their authenticity was confirmed by GamesIndustry.biz.
Approximately 10 employees currently associated with the studio have updated their LinkedIn profiles to reflect that they're exploring new opportunities. However, this number should be approached cautiously as it doesn't provide a definitive measure.
While contacted by GamesIndustry.biz, the studio did not explicitly confirm if layoffs had taken place or how many employees might have been affected.
Studio Director Ed Daly provided a statement indicating that further announcements regarding changes at the studio would be made in the upcoming weeks.
The Chinese Room is part of Sumo Group, which revealed in February its plan to prioritize development services for partners.
"Still Wakes the Deep" secured three BAFTA awards earlier this year. These included accolades for performers Alec Newman and Karen Dunbar, along with a recognition for New Intellectual Property.
