According to the publication, approximately 160 employees might have lost their jobs in total. Of these, at least 80 were working in Playtika’s Polish offices. The company’s offices in Israel were also affected by the layoffs.

The reason for these layoffs remains unknown. MobileGamer noted that Best Fiends’ monthly IAP revenue has been steadily declining since March 2022. According to AppMagic data, three years ago it stood at $8 million, whereas now it is only $3 million. A similar situation is occurring with Redecor. This may have influenced Playtika's decision.

MobileGamer sources’ claims are partially corroborated by the LinkedIn posts of Playtika’s former employees. In the past day, dozens of people have announced their layoffs, including developers, testers, level designers, artists, and many other professionals.

MobileGamer reached out to Playtika for comment, but the company declined to provide one.

Recently, Playtika has already experienced a wave of layoffs. It struck Wooga, a subsidiary studio of the company, immediately after the cancellation of the mobile card game Claire’s Chronicles: Solitaire at the end of May. According to media reports, roughly 50 people were laid off at that time.
