Employees of the closed Volition studio donated the studio's archive to a museum in the USA
The Strong National Museum of Play in New York has received a gift from the employees of the now-closed Volition studio. Its collection has been enriched with an extensive archive of materials related to the development of Saints Row, Red Faction, and many other games from the team.

The archive includes parts of game source codes, documentation, props, developer awards, and “thousands of game builds.” For instance, it contains a build of the prototype for the canceled Saints Row: Undercover for the PlayStation Portable.
Currently, museum staff are engaged in cataloging the archive and transferring the data to modern storage media. The process is expected to take several months. Subsequently, The Strong will open the archive to its visitors.
Volition shut down in 2023 as part of a restructuring by its parent company, Embracer Group. Volition's final game was an unsuccessful reboot of Saints Row, which was met with lukewarm reception from the audience. The studio had operated for a total of 30 years.
