Sony denies allegations of unfair dismissal of Marathon's game director
Sony Corporation has responded to a lawsuit filed by former Marathon game director Christopher Barrett, filed against them and Bungie in December of last year. In the complaint, the developer claimed he was dismissed to avoid paying him due compensation of $45 million.

Sony filed a document in court, disputing six out of the seven points in Barrett's lawsuit. Specifically, they recalled that the developer was dismissed following an internal investigation regarding his workplace conduct. Barrett previously referred to this investigation as a "sham."
According to Sony, Barrett behaved inappropriately with female staff. As an example, the corporation cited several messages Barrett sent to women. For instance, according to them, the developer asked employees about their personal lives and made romantic overtures, and he could write to them at any time—day or night.
Barrett's lawyers have already commented on Sony's actions. In a statement to Game File, they indicated that the examples presented by the corporation are inaccurate.
"It is telling that Sony failed to provide full texts of the messages or the complete content of the conversations as evidence. Nothing in Sony’s response represents a legal or factual basis for Christopher's dismissal," the lawyers stated.
