Crytek is cutting 15% of its staff, which is approximately 60 people
Another company is conducting layoffs. Crytek announced that the challenging situation in the gaming industry forced it to let go of 15% of its staff.
Hunt: Showdown 1896
Crytek currently employs 400 people. Thus, approximately 60 employees will be affected by the layoffs.
The company admitted that it had long tried to avoid layoffs. For instance, to preserve its staff, it reduced operating expenses and halted the development of the next installment of Crysis as early as the third quarter of 2024. However, these measures were insufficient, and to remain financially stable, Crytek had to make the "difficult decision" of implementing layoffs.
Crytek stated it would provide severance packages to affected employees and assist with job searches.
Now Crytek intends to focus on further developing the shooter Hunt: Showdown 1896 and the CRYENGINE engine.
