Among gaming HR professionals, recruiters earn the least—$1,700, while HRBPs can expect around $4,000

We continue to publish the results of our salary survey, conducted from April to May 2023, chapter by chapter. This current publication focuses on the income levels of Russian-speaking game industry HR specialists.

We remind you that we are currently conducting a new salary survey. It aims to gather up-to-date data on salary situations among Russian-speaking and Russian professionals. You can participate here:

$2,153 is the average salary for an HR specialist in the Russian-speaking gaming industry. The median is $1,700.

Like QA specialists, the largest salary group among HR specialists earns between $1,500 and $2,000 (27.6%).

Nearly half of Russian-speaking HR specialists in gaming companies earn more than $2,000. The portion earning less than $1,000 is under 14%.

Russian-speaking game industry HR specialists are mainly distributed across three regions — Russia, Serbia, and Georgia. Russia accounts for nearly 60% of these specialists. However, due to the limited sample size (in this case, there were 29 questionnaires), it's not possible to assert with 100% certainty that this sample is representative.

Recruiters earn the least, with their average rate in gaming companies being around $1,700. Meanwhile, HRBPs can expect up to $4,000. We only covered four specializations due to the lack of sufficient data (at least three questionnaires) on others.

Almost 40% of the HR specialists we surveyed consider themselves at the Middle level. Their average salary is approximately $1,500 per month.

Methodology

The study is the result of the third salary survey among Russian-speaking members of the gaming industry. It was conducted by WN Media Group from April to May 2023 through voluntary questionnaires (participants filled out a freely distributed questionnaire with questions).

A total of 1,004 completed questionnaires were received, of which 29 were from HR specialists.
