Keywords' Lively Studio is experiencing a minor reduction in its workforce
Lively, a subsidiary of Keywords, is undergoing a minor reduction in workforce as part of its business optimization efforts.
GamesIndustry.biz was tipped off about potential job cuts at Electric Square, a developer based in Brighton. However, the organization clarified that these are confined to its sister studio, Lively.
Following a strategic evaluation, a company representative revealed that areas of the business are being streamlined, putting a few employees at the Leamington-based studio at risk.
"This decision was not made lightly and aims at maintaining the company's long-term health," the spokesperson told GamesIndustry.biz. "Our priority is to support employees through this transition, offering necessary assistance and career support."
The spokesperson added, "We value the dedication and effort of all our staff and anticipate a future marked by innovation and expansion."
Both Lively and Electric Square are under the umbrella of Keywords Studios, providing varied development services. Founded by leaders previously at Electric Square, Lively has contributed to games like Warped Kart Racers and Detonation Racing.
