World of Warcraft developers have formed the largest union at Blizzard
Over 500 members of the team working on World of Warcraft have voted to form a union. It has been named the World of Warcraft Game Makers Guild.

The union was created with the assistance of the larger Communications Workers of America, which previously helped to form unions for other teams in Microsoft's gaming division.
According to activists, they had been considering the formation of a union for a long time. They decided to organize it back in 2021 after being disappointed by Activision Blizzard's response to the lawsuit regarding discrimination and harassment within the company. At that time, many Blizzard employees, including World of Warcraft developers, went on strikes, which marked the beginning of their union activities. The final decision to create the union was made after other labor unions appeared within Activision Blizzard.
Currently, 1,750 Microsoft employees are members of various unions. The World of Warcraft Game Makers Guild has become the second-largest union within Microsoft and the largest in Blizzard. It is only surpassed in size by the Activision testers' union, which includes 600 members.
