Lilith Games allocates up to 20% of game profits to employees

Chinese company Lilith Games, known for developing Rise of Kingdoms and AFK Arena, is showcasing remarkable generosity. In an interview with PocketGamer, Vincent Ou, the head of strategy and investments at Lilith Games, revealed that the company operates a so-called "Aladdin Plan," under which it regularly shares profits with its employees.

According to Ou, for each of its new games, Lilith Games establishes a separate subsidiary, and all key team members of the project receive a stake in it. Their combined stake can reach up to 20%. After a game's release, Lilith Games annually distributes a portion of the title's profits to employees, in addition to their salary, based on the stake they hold.

For instance, in 2021, Lilith Games gave $25 million to 90 developers of AFK Arena.

Ou states that through this program, Lilith Games aims to enhance employee loyalty and motivation, as well as retain them within the company.
