Sumo Group will lay off up to 15% of its employees
The British company Sumo Group, whose portfolio includes Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Team Sonic Racing, and many other games, is preparing to conduct major layoffs. It has announced plans to lay off up to 15% of its employees in Canada, the UK, Poland, the Czech Republic, and India.

According to information on the Sumo Group website, it currently has over 1,790 employees. Consequently, about 270 people may lose their jobs.
Sumo Group explained the layoffs as stemming from issues in the gaming industry. According to the company, it is forced to cut staff and reduce certain expenses to secure the business in the long term.
In a comment to GamesIndustry, the company confirmed, that as part of the layoffs, it will close the Canadian Timbre Games. The studio was founded three years ago and was working on two unannounced games for consoles and PC.
