The outsourcing company Lionbridge Technologies has been accused of illegal dismissals, affecting 160 people

Lionbridge Technologies is an American company that assists with content localization and software testing. The Communications Workers of America (CWA) union alleged that the company recently illegally dismissed its entire team in Boise after local employees decided to form a union.

According to CWA, the company did not explicitly tell the dismissed employees that they were being laid off due to union activities. The official reason given was the completion of work on a project. However, teams from Mexico and Poland, who worked on the same project with the Boise employees, kept their jobs.

CWA has filed a complaint against Lionbridge Technologies with the U.S. National Labor Relations Board. Lionbridge Technologies has not publicly commented on the complaint.

Which project the Lionbridge Technologies unit in Boise was working on has not been specified. According to the company's website, the teams in Boise, Mexico City, and Warsaw specialize in video games. At various times, they have collaborated with Microsoft, Square Enix, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Warner Bros. Discovery, miHoYo, and many other developers.
