According to CTech, the layoffs will not affect the Playtika division in Israel, where about 1,100 people currently work. Previously, the dev portal.by wrote that layoffs will take place in Romania, Poland and Belarus — it is expected that 50% of employees or about 150 people will be fired from the disbanded office in Minsk. It is unknown whether they will take place in other regions. Playtika also has offices in the USA, Germany, Austria, Australia, Ukraine, Romania and Finland.

Playtika did not comment on the media reports.

Playtika is already the fourth large company associated with the gaming industry, which reduced its staff in January 2024. Earlier, it became known about layoffs at Unity (1800 people), Twitch (500 people) and Discord (170 people). More people are already out of work than in January 2023. According to the Game Industry Layoffs portal, last January, gaming companies laid off 726 specialists. In total, 10,466 people were laid off in the gaming industry in 2023.
