Former BioWare employees sued the company over low termination payments
Seven BioWare veterans have appealed to a Canadian court. They accused the company of "unjustifiably mistreating" the dismissal.
The developers claim that BioWare fired them for no reason. In this case, the company was legally obliged to pay them a severance package in the amount of a month's salary for each year of work, but BioWare assigned a significantly lower amount. On average, retired veterans have worked at BioWare for 14 years.
According to the plaintiffs, BioWare also forbade them to post examples of work on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in their portfolio, as stipulated in the non—disclosure agreement. According to the developers, this condition makes it difficult to find employment.
The dismissed veterans demand to appoint an adequate severance package and compensate for moral damage.
