Armored Core VI is being developed by about 300 FromSoftware employees — the same number worked on Elden Ring

There aren’t as many people working on FromSoftware games as it might seem. In an interview with PC Gamer, the producer of the upcoming Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, Yasunori Ogura, said that now there are only 400 people on the studio staff, 300 of whom are part of the development team.

According to Ogura, during the most active work on Armored Core VI, 200-230 people from FromSoftware were simultaneously engaged in the game. The situation was similar when creating the Elden Ring. He added that the number of studio employees behind Armored Core 5 released in 2012 was also small — 80 people.

However, Ogura didn’t say anything about the number of outsourcers helping FromSoftware. According to the MobyGames portal, a total of 1,668 people are mentioned in the credits of the same Elden Ring.

To understand the scale, here’s how many people are listed in the credits of some of the new products of 2023 (according to MobyGames):

▫️The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom– 1408 people;
▫️Atomic Heart – 1448 people;
▫️Remake of Resident Evil 4 – 1509 people;
▫️Redfall – 2045 people;
▫️Hogwarts Legacy – 3464 people;
▫️Diablo IV – 9168 people.
