Dauntless developer studio laid off 9% of employees
The Canadian studio Phoenix Labs has made cuts. She fired 9% of the employees, leaving about 30 people out of work.
In the comments to the GamesIndustry portal.A representative of Phoenix Labs told biz that the studio decided to focus on fewer games. She is currently working on a Fae Farm simulator for Nintendo Switch, which is scheduled for release in 2023, and a number of unannounced projects.
Phoenix Labs was founded in 2014 by people from Riot Games. Six years later, the studio became part of Garena, but at the beginning of 2023 it became independent again. So far Phoenix Labs has managed to release only one game — a free-play action RPG Dauntless.
